In late 2010, MM&S Inc. acquired Millington Gravel, their phone number, and a vast majority of its clients. We are very appreciative to all the new customers and we’re working hard everyday to keep our three counties of clients satisfied with all their aggregate supplies.
In December 2011, Mark Martin & Sons, Inc. began construction of our new shop and office building located at 4253 Otter Lake Rd, Otter Lake, MI. This 60′ x 120′ x 26′ building is ideal for our farming and mining equipment and a beautiful addition to our property.
Due to the recent increase in energy prices, MM&S has been forced to increase our prices. This will assist in the skyrocketing price of energy. We have not had a price increase since 2009. However we’ve managed to lock in the price for recycled crushed concrete and our various other driveway gravels. Also our top selling materials, our Black Dirt Blend and Mason sand prices remain the same.
Mark Martin & Sons, Inc. was saddened by the death of Forest Township Supervisor Valerie Pace, and Mark was honored to accept the position from the Township board to move from his Trustee position to the Township Supervisor to fulfill Valerie’s term ending in November 2012. Mark Martin has no intention of seeking another term as Supervisor but is grateful for the experience and knowledge he absorbed from it. As of now he plans to seek another term as a Trustee to help in the management of our township.
Mark Martin & Sons, Inc. has also purchased another 300′ of conveyor for our mining operation in Otter Lake and we will implement it into our setup this season.
Our company attended the Con-Agg Expo in Las Vegas, NV in March. This is a convention to the highest magnitude for what is new and upcoming in our field of expertise. The information and instruction we gain is vital to the growth of our company and keeps us ahead on the trends in manufacturing and equipment.
